SERVICESIndividual Psychotherapy (REBT-Based)

I provide individual psychotherapy for adults experiencing persistent anxiety, depression, emotional overwhelm, or chronic stress.

My approach is grounded in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT). Together, we identify rigid beliefs, harsh self-judgments, and unhelpful coping patterns that maintain distress — and we work toward realistic, flexible thinking and meaningful behavioral change.

What is REBT?

Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) is a practical, evidence-based form of therapy that helps you understand why you feel the way you do, and what you can do to change it.

When we’re anxious, overwhelmed, or down, it’s often not only the situation that hurts us, but the way we interpret it. For example, you might find yourself thinking:

“I must not fail.”

“I can’t handle this.”

“I’m not good enough.”

In therapy, we slow these thoughts down, look at how they affect your emotions and actions, and learn how to respond in a more balanced and supportive way. This doesn’t mean “thinking positive.” It means building more flexible, realistic beliefs—so emotions feel more manageable and your choices feel clearer.

REBT is structured and collaborative. We focus on understanding patterns, practicing tools you can use in everyday life, and creating change that lasts.
Therapy begins by understanding the patterns that keep distress going:

Assessment
We clarify what you’re struggling with, how it shows up emotionally, and the thought patterns that tend to repeat.

Identifying core beliefs
We explore the rigid expectations, harsh self-judgments, and assumptions that drive emotional reactions.

Challenging beliefs (REBT work)
In session, we actively question these beliefs, how accurate they are, how helpful they are, and what a more balanced alternative could be.

Behavioral change
Practical exercises support real-life change so new ways of thinking and coping can actually stick.

Therapy is structured and goal-oriented, and we review progress regularly so the work stays focused and meaningful.
The goal of therapy isn’t to remove all discomfort. It’s to build emotional flexibility, resilience, and a steadier way of responding to life.

Clients often notice:

Reduced anxiety and emotional overwhelm

Greater self-acceptance and less harsh self-judgment

Less catastrophic “worst-case scenario” thinking

Improved emotional regulation

More effective problem-solving

Greater confidence in handling setbacks

Change happens gradually through insight, practice, and consistent application in everyday life.
You don’t need perfect thoughts; you need flexible ones. That’s where resilience begins.

GENERAL TOPICS

I can help you with

Anxiety & Worry
Persistent overthinking, panic symptoms, and ongoing emotional tension can make even everyday life feel exhausting. You may find yourself caught in “what if” thoughts, expecting the worst, or living with a constant sense of alertness that never fully switches off.
Depression & Low Mood
Depression is often more than feeling sad. It can show up as low motivation, emotional numbness, harsh self-criticism, and pulling away from the people and activities that usually matter to you.
Burnout & Overwhelm
Chronic stress can leave you feeling drained and on edge, often with irritability, difficulty concentrating, and physical tension. When pressure feels constant and expectations never let up, it becomes harder to recover and stay emotionally resilient.
Self-Criticism
Rigid standards and fear of failure can create constant anxiety and dissatisfaction, even when, on paper, you’re doing well. In our work, we soften harsh self-judgments, loosen “all-or-nothing” expectations, and build a healthier balance of accountability and self-acceptance.
Emotional Regulation
When anger, guilt, shame, or frustration feel hard to manage, it can strain relationships and wear down your overall well-being. Therapy offers a structured way to understand what triggers these emotions and build more constructive, grounded responses.
Life Transitions
Major changes, like a career shift, relocation, or a relationship change, can shake your sense of balance and security. In therapy, we explore the beliefs you’ve attached to the transition and build coping strategies that support steadiness, confidence, and clearer decision-making.
